Party Pace Pummels Stokes Strade; Parsons Produces a Solid #2 at 60/40

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

(Stokesville, VA) - Party Pace Peddlers’ Flynn, Laine, Parsons, and Slone turned out and turned it up for the Stokesville Strade Gravel Grinder on Saturday, March 6.

Flynn, Parsons, and Slone finished 9, 10, and 14 respectively for overall men; Laine decided to add four miles to his route before opting to turn back to the finish and closed with a respectable 33rd place. There were 61 participants in the men’s 50K distance.

”I began wondering why guys were taking in gels and sitting up with a half mile to go,” said Laine, then realizing his predicament.

After a night of ghosting restaurant waitlists and pho and sushi, Flynn and Parsons stayed on to compete in the Stokesville 60/40K on Sunday.

Flynn spent the day in the front seat of the strugglebus while Parsons bared down to lay down a solid #2 for his division.

”I think the IPA, raw fish, and coffee really made me go,” Parsons might have said, if anyone bothered to ask.

”Party Pace has its sights set on getting Laine onto the singletrack and off the sourdough,” Flynn later said, referring to Laine‘s baking proclivities. Next up for the PPP: Tour de Pocahontas in Chesterfield, VA.
