Bread, beer, peanut butter pretzels, maybe bike racing

(Chesterfield, VA) - Frigid morning temps were no match for the party pace palm trees as they cast a beacon of merriment across the 10th annual Monster Cross event at Pocahontas State Park. Once again many beloved miscreants from Party Pace Peddlers turned out to race the bikes, eat the breads, and drink the beers. PPP giveaways drew in local Strava celebrities, out-of-state randos, and a few old friends who heard the rumors of free beer and pretzels.

PPP racers included Flynn, Karanian, Parsons, Slone, and newest additions Hall and Oates (err, Wilson). Wilson brought a tribute of Fireball to the Party Pace Party Zone; PPP OG Laine brought many loaves of the finest offerings from Europa Crust.

PPP team results for the day:

Flynn - 4th - 50+ (25 mile distance)

Hall - 61st - Men's open (25)

Karanian - DNF-ish (there's a story, there)

Parsons - 5th - Clydes (50 mile distance)

Slone - 21st - Men's open (25)

Wilson - 46th - 50+ (25)

Fires were lit. Breads were traded for questionable homemade energy bars. Everybody drank our beer and high-tailed it out of there when it was time to clean up.

Here's to the start of another great cycling season! See you all out there...
