(Chesterfield, VA) - Party Pace Peddlers came out to play for the 9th Annual Monster Cross at Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, VA on Sunday (April 11).
Proselytizers of the party credo included Flynn (the Other), Kendrick, Laine, Parsons, and Slone. Temps and gravel conditions were amazeballs and Mark J. did a superb job staging waves of racers in an effort to manage the risk of CoronaCooties.
Once again Parsons put down a blistering pace and claimed the number three spot for the Clydes division in the 50-mile event. Flynn, who basically sucked his wheel for 25 miles, took 12th for the Open Men 50-mile group.
Slone took a commanding 8th place out of 63 (overall) men for the 25-mile distance; Laine landed a respectable 17th and Kendrick 21st for the Men's 50+ age group in 50-mile distance.
"Flynn just kept hanging on like a dingleberry," said Parsons. Flynn, who finished covered in rear-wheel-mud-spray, was unavailable for comment.
In related news, PPP's Laine unveiled the new team ride, the Party Pony. The inaugural Party Pony Parade event featured a becoiffed Laine driving Parsons through the parking lot to showcase his 3rd place brick. Beverages were provided by the adroit Kendrick and steaks later that evening by Parsons, as is customary to feed your teammates when you grab the podium.
